RED RIDING HOOD new story
Handmade artist book and new Story
When i was a child i didn't love this tale because of it final. I felt bitterness and compassion for the wolf, who was killed by a Lumberjacks. I thought it was not fair because the Wolf was quite attractive character - clever and funny.
So the main idea was to make a book without text for creating personal stories based on my illustrations. I also added some characters and landscape elements, that weren't in Charles Perrault fairy tale (a little rabbit, a black bird, some black trees and orange house). I think they will shift your fantasy on some new level.
I didn't make any sketches, there were not any references - it was a spontaneous creative act
All the book i've made by the hands, from a different kinds of paper and a cardboard. All the illustration was drawn by ink, acrylic and pencils.
Then i've scanned it and made a short video with my Story version here

The Snow... Morning
And the Wolf is looking at something bright and orange, and a small, small bunny is looking at it too. Or maybe the Wolf is looking at the Bunny? Let's see what will happen next…
Wow! A big, big black bird flew by. And this forest is so terrible and mysterious. And the snow is still falling ... And this orange light beckons everyone.
And now, behind a snowdrift, we see that this Wolf actually carries Little Red Riding Hood, that is, a girl in a red cap, and we understand that it is saving her from something: from these big black trees, these terrible black birds ... They go where orange light beckons.
Oh, that’s what it is! This, it turns out, is a house - a small orange house, which itself looks like a large snowdrift under such a white cap of snow. And the light is on inside. Let's go in there! Oh, Grandma, hello! Grandma is waiting for us. The Wolf brought Little Red Riding Hood to her Grandmother.
And all would be fine, but here the Lumberjacks passed by. What will they do? Will they cut down all these terrible trees and Little Red Riding Hood won't be afraid to walk there alone? Or will they kill someone?
